Where to put Commas

 31/08/20

I.A.L.T create a blog post about last weeks task and write about it.

Last week, we were working on making a poster, using slides, about where to put commas, and I made an animation with Jess. We had two lessons and completed a few worksheets about commas, and we got to choose if we wanted to make an animation, slideshow or quiz about the topic/commas.

Below is the Boss Baby animation me and Jess made:

I really enjoyed making this because I like moving the characters, changing their position and giving them speech.
I think I transitioned the chalkboard well, and opened the red car door using POLYLINE tool.
Even though I did enjoy this, I think I could have explained the main point better.

Did you enjoy watching this animation?
Have you seen Boss Baby?

Olden Days Reading Activity

 19/08/20, Reading Activity

I.A.L.T upload my reading task to my blog and write about it.

Today our reading task was to imagine we were from the future and had time-travelled back to 2020. We had to write a letter explaining things about what it's like in 2020, and we were suggested to include what 2020 looks like, smells like, feels like and what we learnt here. I wrote the letter comparing 2020 to 2036, but we were allowed writing about any year from the future.

Here is the link to my reading task:

Olden Days Reading Activity

I enjoyed writing the end of this letter, it was easier and also marked the end.

One thing I think I did well was decorating and fitting the letter.

Something I think I could do better about this task is get a better background, quicker too. I took a while working on that.

2nd Kiwi Can Lesson! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

24/06/20, Second Kiwi Can!

I.A.L.T upload my blog to my post

Today our class went to Kiwi Can for the second time this term (since lockdown). This post is about my reflection of today's
Kiwi Can lesson.

At Kiwi Can, the first thing we did was do the catchphrase we learnt last week: 'When times get tough, I don't despair, I bounce back up and persevere!'Then we played the game 'Octopus' (🐙). This game is where you have a few taggers in the middle of the field (or big room/hall) and everyone else lines up on one wall or side of field. Then the person/people in the middle call out a category (?) and the people lined up run and try not to get tagged. When someone is tagged that person has to freeze where he/she was tug and try to tag someone else without moving their feet. I liked playing this game today because we switched up the rules a bit, there was one round when whoever decided to be the tagger - (me, Beau and Robert were in at this time) - had to 'bear crawl' around instead of walk normally. It was really fun. Then we played Green Light, Orange Light, Red Light but instead we played it as 'Motorbike, Car, Airplane'. That was just like Green Light, Orange Light, Red Light but instead if Jodesy said one of the three mentioned vehicles, we run or walk pretending to drive that vehicle. If she said something like 'stop' or 'helicopter', then we just try to ignore it and continue what we were doing. Only the words 'park it' were the ones meant to make us stop. Anyway, the aim was to get to the chosen person standing somewhere without messing up the actions. We changed this game a bit too, once we got used to it. We started playing girls vs boys and since the girls won twice in a  row, the Kiwi Can leaders made us hop on one foot to the person. That helped the boys win, and then we were tied. At the end the Kiwi Can leaders chose the Kiwi Canners, me, Mia, Enzo and Reagan. Then we played GKQ (General Knowledge Questions.) Jess was the winner for that. She got lots of questions right.

Here are some pictures of when we were playing the games:

I really enjoyed both those games because they were really fun. I liked how we changed them a little bit because it made it easier yet harder for some. I find it interesting that games are so fun when the rules are different.
