War - Growing Poem

Another poem I wrote was a growing poem. We were supposed to choose a complex subject, and there was a list of those we could choose from. I chose war.
Below is the link to my poem:

Diamante Poems

For a task we had to write a diamanté poem. A diamante poem is a poem written in the shape of a diamond. It has seven lines.

Below is the link to two of my poems.

I didn't mind writing these. I didn't really have any ideas so thats why I chose those topics.

Dartboard Math

For this weeks math we had two tasks to do, one level 4 task and one level 3 task. The level four task is about a dartboard and totals. Below is my completed math:

This task wasn't hard and I didn't mind doing it. We did a similar one last week but I didn't understand back then, and today I remembered to start  at the largest or smallest numbers. I started at thirty. It was all quite easy.
Have you done something like this before? If you have, did you find it fun?

Snow Fluff Science

On Wednesday we had our class meet and our teacher showed us a site with a bunch of fun things to do. I looked through them and chose to do snow fluff so I can make a snowman. Below is my slideshow of what I did.

I enjoyed making the snowman/snowchild. The accessories were fun to make.

Have you made snow fluff or something similar before?

Rouis and the Great Escape of the Shop Storm

Today I am uploading a blog of my writing from the past few days. We had to write about a great storm, but I didn't have any ideas so I made it about an axolotl and a mishap in a fish/aquarium store, so it's like a storm. Below is the link to my writing.

Rouis and the Great Escape of the Shop Storm

What I enjoyed about creating my story was adding pictures.

What I found most difficult was getting ideas to write my story.

Do you like axolotls? Have you seen one before?

Finding the Area of a Triangle

W.A.L.T find the area of a triangle

Today for blogging we had to make a poster about finding the area of a triangle. We had to write how to do it and add an example. We had to explain the problem. Below is my poster.

My Poster

This was a pretty easy task but I didn't do all the different triangles and ways.

Cat

Today's blogging task is to write a post about something fun I did outside in the weekend. I don't really go outside but I do to play with my cat. Last weekend one of my mum's friends brought her cat to our house. He's a big fluffy grey cat with green eyes. This cat didn't really get along with my cat, a small grey cat with greenish eyes, and no one trusted him near our bird so we had to keep them away from each other. He was usually outside anyway so that wasn't too hard to do. The fun thing I did outside last Saturday was go outside onto the deck and pet the cats. Their fur is very soft. That is all.

The Race

The Race

On Monday I had to write using a story starter on Pobble365. The picture was about motorbikers racing. The story starter was about the guy focusing on the next jump, taking this as his time to shine. I continued with the story saying someone bumped into him and they fell down to a pit, then he got back up and raced again.
Here is my story

I didn't really mind doing this story but I didn't really like it either. I don't know anything about motorbike racing so this probably wouldn't happen anyway.

Have you read the The Race Pobble?

Drawing

Today's blogging task is to upload a post about a drawing or piece of art from the week. I didn't have one that I wanted to share or haven't already so I drew a Pikachu because they're pretty simple to do and I didn't have any ideas. When I was watercolouring I kind of messed it up but it didn't turn out too bad, the head just looks kind of a Beluga whale or like he hit his head on something. I found drawing the head more difficult than the rest. Next time I could change how I coloured it.

Below is my picture:

Insect Made of Flowers

One of the extra activities for lockdown learning was art. The art task was to create an insect out of leaves and flowers, like what Raku Inoue does. I tried creating a purple butterfly made out of flowers. It was going to be yellow but I didn't have enough of that colour flowers. This was fun but kind of hard to do because it can easily be destroyed and I have to be very careful with it.

Below is a picture of what I made:

Man and Sea

This week my reading task was to read a textbook called Man and Sea and complete a series of slides with questions about the book. One of the questions was to share my thoughts on the process Ioane (the person that gets the tattoo) had to go through to get the tatau (tattoo) and what I would do if I was him. My answer is below:

I agree on the process Ioane had to go through to get the tatau. If I was Ioane I probably would do the same thing because I would be that age and his father's son so I would probably want to get it too.

I also had to write a short paragraph about why it's important to be connected to cultral elements. Here is my answer to that:

Being disconnected from your cultural heritage can lead you to question who you are and where you belong. It also makes you feel lost and isolated. Connecting with your culture usually has a positive impact on your identity and sense of belonging. Connecting can also positively affect your mental health and wellbeing. It gives people a feeling of belonging and security to identify with a particular culture.

Have you ever read Man and Sea? Why do you think it's important to be connected to your culture?

My Possible Actions - Reduce

Today we were talking about the Greenhouse Gas Effect, saving power and how to help save marine life. We discussed how to help take care of the environment and save power and water.

Some ways we can help save marine life are only take what you need, which means if you only have a few people to feed don't take every fish you catch, release some back into the water so they can live and have more fish. If you catch undersized fish, small ones, put them back too so they can live.

To save power we should turn off lights when we aren't using them and use more renewable energy. Turn off the water tap if you aren't using it. Drive less or use an electric car.

To help reduce the amount of pollution, make sure you put your rubbish in a rubbish bin, and try to use less plastic overall. You can get reusable things instead of plastic things, that's better than getting plastic. Animals might mistake plastic for food and they might try to eat it. Plastic can badly injure or kill animals, so please try to reduce the amount of plastic being threw away and polluting the ocean and world.

A Good Book I Read Recently

For today's blogging task I am making a post about the last good book I read. The last good book I read is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Volume 3. This manga series is about the characters fighting demons. Tanjiro and Nezuko are siblings, but Nezuko is a demon. Unlike other demons though, she hasn't ever eaten a human before, she gains energy by sleeping instead. The first demons they face in this book are Susamaru the Temari Demon and Yahaba the Arrows Demon. Susamaru has multiple arms and throws Temari balls very hard so they can hurt and kill people. Yahaba has eyes in each palm and can basically control the way everything turns and moves, he can control arrows and send them in different directions but you can't see the arrows unless you're using a special thing. Nezuko is quite strong so she basically plays demon soccer with Susamaru, kicking the Temari balls back to her. While she fights Susamaru, Tanjiro fights Yahaba. They win and then meet up with Yushiro and Tamayo, two demons who are good and trying to help Tanjiro. When Tanjiro and Nezuko are going, the find someone near Tanjiro's age begging a girl to marry him. Tanjiro saves the girl and the guy, who's name is Zenitsu Agatsuma, comes with them. They find a mansion with two kids crying at the edge of the forest near the house, and they tell Tanjiro that their brother is inside. Tanjiro promises to get him back safe and leaves Nezuko in her box near them, telling them to stay near it. He goes inside with Zenitsu, (Zenitsu was really scared) and they find a couple demons but the walls kept moving and flipping when the loud drums boomed. The childeren followed them because they got scared but they found a drum so they were able to flip the room when they saw a demon. Inside the mansion there was another person, he wasn't a demon. When they finished in the house they went outside and Tanjiro saw Zenitsu, the biggest scared-y cat of all time protecting the box (with Nezuko in it) from the person from inside the mansion. He was wearing a pig head on his head, deer fur and bear fur for clothes. They fought and his name was Inosuke Hashibira. They killed the tsutsumi drum demon, but while he was fading away and since Tanjiro is the nicest demon slayer alive, he complimented the demons writing and drums and the demon died happily. That is most of what happened in this book.
Below is a picture of the book:

I loved reading this because it was fun and I love Demon Slayer. I would definitely recommend this to my friend if she hadn't already read it. I would recommend this to anyone who likes reading manga or just comics.
Have you watched or read Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba before?

How to make Geometric Art

 03/09/20

I.A.L.T upload a blog post and write about it.

For the last couple of weeks we have been working on geometric art. It is art that looks like stained glass sometimes or just shapes mixed around to look like an animal. In this blog I will show you the steps to making geometric art.

The first step to making this is choosing an animal or item.

Our class used animals, but you can do other things too. Once you have your animal, draw it on a piece of paper.

Next, you need to change all of the curved lines into straight lines.

Now you just fill the animal or object with geometric shapes, using a ruler. You can use triangles and other shapes to fill your animal. You don't have to make both sides symmetrical, it looks good either way.

After that is done, you can colour the shapes. You can use dye, felts, colouring pencils or other things to colour your animal or other thing. Colours that go well together like blue & purple, green & yellow and other mixes like that look great, but you don't have to.

That is how you make geometric art.

Below is two screenshots of some geometric art I got off google.
