Zentangle Art

My Zentangle Seahorse Art
 Zentangle Art
W.A.L.T make zentangle art for Sea Week.
For Sea Week Tui Whanau have been working on zentangle art.
There were Hammerhead Shark, Turtle and Seahorse templates. I chose seahorse.
First we had to trace the outline of of our choice. Some of our class even used the template instead of tracing, but not everyone. After that, we drew designs on our animals. We were allowed to search up patterns on google. When we were done drawing our patterns, we had to go over the lines in Vivid. Then we cut out the animals and put them in a pile for later. The next time we did this art, it was time to dye. XD. We got a sheet of paper and prepared the dye. To dye the first thing we did was lay down some paper so the dye wouldn't stain the table. We decided our colours and painted the paper with what ever colour we like. We waited until the next day then we glued the animal onto the dyed paper. We wrote our name down at the bottom. Now we are done!
This was so fun! I love art so I loved doing this. I really enjoyed dying the paper and drawing the patterns. I didn't really like cutting my animal, I was afraid it might rip.
This took about two weeks to finish.
Have you ever made Zentangle art before? If you haven't, do you want to?

  1. Hello, my name is Nerys
I am in class mankau at Waikowhai Primary School.
I like that you used lots of different size and shapes of patterns.
It reminds me of when I used dye with my self portrait.
Maybe you could make the size of the picture bigger.
